Selangor to limit operations of short-term rentals such as Airbnb to six months per year starting in 2026.
The Selangor state government has announced plans to impose restrictions on Airbnb and other short-term rental services within the state. Starting January 2026, short-term rentals will be capped at a maximum of 180 nights per year, and operators wishing to exceed this limit will be required to apply for planning permission.
