Hello I’m Aunty Aya👵

This time, I will introduce Malaysian radish. Malaysian radishes are thinner and smaller than Japanese radishes. . . Is it because it's always summer? ? According to my research, radish has a wide range of germination temperatures ranging from 15 to 30 degrees Celsius, but it prefers cool climates with a suitable growing temperature of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius. The average temperature in Kuala Lumpur, the capital, is 23 to 33 degrees Celsius, so the temperature is high enough to grow daikon radish, but it is produced in the countryside where the temperature is cool.

Cameron Highlands, a highland resort in Malaysia, has a cool temperature of around 20℃ throughout the year and an altitude of more than 1,500m, so the production of highland vegetables is very prosperous. Radishes are also produced in Cameron Highlands. However, it is thinner and smaller than Japanese radish. Root vegetables are vulnerable to heat and dryness, so typical root vegetables other than radish, such as carrots🥕, potatoes, burdock, yam, taro, and lotus root, are all imported. A lot of it is from China.

The carrot pictured above is from Australia and is about the same size as the carrots sold in Japan. The radish is twice as thick and 1.5 times as long as the carrot, so it's not as thick as the Japanese radish.

The radish in this photo was bought on another day. It's so long (laughs) I've never seen a radish like this🤣🤣🤣The carrot is about the same size as the first picture.

I will also write about vegetables and food that are different from Japan.

See you soon~👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
