Hello, this is Aya Mama 👵🏻It’s been a while since my last blog! Japan is experiencing extreme heat right now, which must be tough. Malaysia is tropical all year round, but surprisingly, it’s actually cooler than summer in Japan 😮. You might find that hard to believe, but I’m writing this blog right now without air conditioning. My home is a bit in the suburbs, and when I open the windows, a pleasant breeze comes through — it feels wonderful. August is a busy month for relocation, so people who move here often think Malaysia is cooler than Japan!
International schools start a new term in September, which is why many families relocate in August. Also, since it’s the Obon season, there are many travelers coming from Japan.
So today, I’d like to introduce pediatric clinics for those moving to Malaysia with children.

This is a local pediatric clinic, especially popular among the Chinese community. It’s always crowded on weekends, so be sure to call before you go. They will tell you what time to come. If you go without calling, you could end up waiting for hours… On weekends, they don’t accept patients in the afternoon, so make sure to call in the morning.
My son had a cough that wouldn’t stop for four months, but after visiting this clinic and taking the medicine, his cough finally went away! What’s amazing about this clinic:
1. A wide variety of medicines
I’ve been to other pediatric clinics, and when you go for a cold, they usually give the same medicines every time. But here, the medicines are different each visit. The doctor prescribes medicines tailored to your child’s symptoms, so they work well and recovery is faster.

2. The doctor takes time to carefully check your child’s condition
First, the doctor checks the soles of the feet and toes. They always do this check, but the pediatric clinic we used to go to didn’t check the soles or toes. Normally, this isn’t done.

After checking the feet, the doctor uses a stethoscope to examine the chest and abdomen.

The back is also checked, and the throat is examined as well.

The stethoscope that day was a panda 🐼 So cute 🧡

Another day, it was a koala 🐨

There’s also a tiger 🐯

From left: medicine for when the fever is above 38.5℃, cold medicine, phlegm medicine, and cough medicine. The germs that cause colds in Malaysia seem stronger than in Japan, so it’s best to take the medicine thoroughly until all cold symptoms disappear.

The hospital cost on this day was:
Consultation fee: RM55Medicine: RM35Total: RM90
Malaysia does not have a national health insurance system.
Malaysia does not have a national health insurance system, so children in a typical Malaysian household are usually covered by life insurance. The cost is around RM250. My son was also enrolled while I was pregnant.
In Malaysia, having insurance is essential.Tabiniko also offers insurance services, so please contact us if you are interested.
I’ll share more information about life in Malaysia next time!
See you again~ 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
