This time, I’d like to introduce a safe and reliable way to purchase Malaysia’s Touch 'n Go card, which is not always easy to obtain.
Touch ’n Go is Malaysia’s rechargeable travel card, similar to Singapore’s EZ-Link, London’s Oyster Card, or Australia’s Opal Card. It can be used not only for public transport, but also for toll roads, parking, and even convenience stores. It’s especially convenient to get one in advance if you’re planning a long-term stay or expect to travel frequently during your time in Malaysia.
● Uses
Paying tolls on highways
Riding LRT and MRT trains
Taking Rapid KL buses (cash not accepted)
Paying for parking (e.g. at shopping malls)
Making payments at restaurants and supermarkets via the TnG eWallet app
The standard Touch ’n Go card and the new NFC-enabled card each require a one-time issuance fee of RM10 (approximately USD2.20).
※ RM1 ≒ USD0.22 (as of July 2025). Please note that prices are subject to change.
The validity period is 10 years for the standard card and 7 years for the NFC card. Previously, Touch ’n Go cards could be purchased at drugstores and other retail outlets, but they are no longer available there. (They can still occasionally be found at train stations, but often these are older versions without NFC support.) While the cards are also sold on platforms like Shopee and Lazada, there have been reports of scams. So here, we’ll show you safe and reliable ways to get a genuine Touch ’n Go card!
The most reliable place to get one?
The official Touch ’n Go store inside Nu Sentral, just next to KL Sentral Station!
If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur, chances are you’ll stop by KL Sentral for sightseeing or souvenir shopping — and since Nu Sentral is directly connected, it’s easy to find!

⚠️ Important Notes About the Touch ’n Go Card in Malaysia

That wraps up our guide to the incredibly useful Touch ’n Go (TnG) card!
Please note that once you top up the card, the balance is non-refundable, and getting the card does require a bit of time and a small fee.So, if you think you'll be using it frequently or staying long-term in Malaysia, we highly recommend getting one while you're here!
