AEON to Open a New Mall in “KL Metropolis” Near Mont Kiara in 2026

AEON Malaysia (Aeon Co (M) Bhd) has announced that it will open “AEON Mall KL Midtown” in the fourth quarter of this year (2026). The new development will become the company’s 28th mall in the country.

Located in the high-profile “KL Metropolis” area, the new mall is also adjacent to Mont Kiara.

The new mall will be located within “KL Metropolis,” a large-scale 75-acre integrated development area. It enjoys a prime location adjacent to Mont Kiara and Sri Hartamas, both well-known residential areas popular among expatriates and affluent residents.

In addition to office towers and luxury residences, the development will be directly connected and integrated with the five-star Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur hotel. With a net lettable area of approximately 367,000 square feet, the mall aims to become a new lifestyle hub for nearby residents and the business community.

A Space Where Everyday Living and Leisure Come Together, Anchored by AEON as the Main Tenant

AEON Malaysia Managing Director Tsugutoshi Seko commented on the project, stating that the company aims to create “a space that goes beyond retail, where people can enjoy quality time through dining, socializing, and leisure activities.” This will mark AEON’s first entry into a large-scale integrated development project.

An “AEON Supermarket” has already been confirmed as the mall’s anchor tenant, which is expected to further enhance shopping convenience for the surrounding community. Additional key tenants will be announced in stages at a later date.
