US data centre giant Equinix has announced plans to build a new data centre, “KL2,” in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The project involves an investment of more than US$190 million (approximately ¥30 billion) and will become the company’s fourth facility in Malaysia. KL2 is planned to be built near the existing “KL1” facility, within a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.

AEON Malaysia (Aeon Co (M) Bhd) has announced that it will open “AEON Mall KL Midtown” in the fourth quarter of this year (2026). The new development will become the company’s 28th mall in the country.

The commercial complex “Ombak KLCC” is set to officially open on August 28, 2026. “Ombak” means “wave” in Malay. It is a commonly used word that refers to ocean waves or the undulating movement of water. True to its name, “Ombak KLCC” is a building with a distinctive wave-inspired design.
