Students who do not meet the required English proficiency may apply for a student visa on a conditional basis. Upon arrival in Malaysia, they must enroll in APU’s English Language Program (ELP) and subsequently take an approved English proficiency test such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or MUET.
Please note that if students fail to achieve the required English proficiency within a maximum period of 12 months, they will not be allowed to progress into the main academic program and will be required to return to their home country.
However, students from English-speaking countries or those holding qualifications taught in English (e.g., IGCSE, A-Levels, IB, American High School Diploma, etc.) may be eligible for exemption from this requirement. Next, we’d like to share with you our visit to APU, where the two of us from Tabiniko had the opportunity to tour the campus.
The first university we visited was APU (Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation). As the name suggests, with “Technology” in its name, this university specializes in IT-related fields. We were amazed by the sheer number of computers on campus.
What surprised us the most, however, was the Trading Center, which displays real-time stock market information — it honestly felt like we were inside a stock exchange! We didn’t expect to find such a facility on a university campus. It was truly impressive.
<Courtyard & Cafeteria>

It felt just like the ideal campus life you imagine in Malaysia — a large, open-air atrium with flags from around the world hanging overhead. And, you might spot your country's flag too! Massive ceiling fans were spinning slowly, adding to the relaxed, tropical atmosphere of this Malaysian university.
<Lecture Room>

The official name of APU is Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation, and just as its name suggests, it’s a futuristic university with a strong focus on IT and innovation! It honestly felt like stepping into another dimension. The number of computers, the atmosphere of the classrooms — everything was on another level! Many of the classrooms had glass walls, so we could clearly see students working on computers during their lessons.

The campus is fully equipped with machines for woodworking and creative projects, providing students with a hands-on environment to work on a wide range of creations.

There’s even a dedicated classroom for building robots. It really feels like this university is at the forefront of technology and innovation.

Here’s one of the glass-walled corridors. Unlike most schools where the classroom walls are solid, APU uses glass walls, giving the entire interior a sleek, modern look. You can clearly see into the classrooms and watch the lessons happening next door. On this floor, both sides of the hallway — and even straight ahead — were all glass, and everywhere we looked, students were engaged in tech-driven lessons using computers and the latest technology.
<Psychology>

This is the area where students study psychology. The atmosphere here was completely different from the computer labs we saw earlier — this entire floor is dedicated to psychology studies. And it even smelled really nice! (#^.^#)

There are also standard lecture rooms.

Outside the lecture rooms, there were desks and chairs set up for students to study, and we saw many students working on their laptops there.

There’s also a special classroom with green walls and flooring.
<XR STUDIO>

The XR Studio is a facility equipped with cutting-edge technology for creating next-generation video content and virtual events using XR technologies such as 3D CG, VR, AR, and MR. It’s fully equipped with the latest machines and equipment.

There’s also a room for audio recording.
<TRADING CENTER>

What surprised me the most during this campus tour was this mini stock exchange. I couldn’t believe a facility like this actually exists inside a university!
To be honest, I’ve never even thought about getting into stocks myself… (;^ω^)

Stock tickers displaying share prices lined the walls, and there were six clocks showing the time in different countries around the world.

The student who showed us around the campus spoke fluent Japanese — I was so surprised!

<Auditorium>

<Library>

They even had bean bags around — it really gave off the perfect campus life vibes! Loved it!

The library was quite spacious, and many students were studying hard there. I heard that you need to wear proper attire to enter the library — for men, that means a collared shirt and long pants.

The hallways were wide and open, giving a very spacious feel.
<Graduation Project>

I felt that the graduation projects were of a very high standard.
<Student Visa Center>

Since the university has over 10,000 students, the Student Visa Center was also quite large, with around 20 service counters. It was impressive!
<Cafeteria>

Since there are many students from different countries, the cafeteria offered a wide variety of food, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Western cuisines.

You can’t use cash at the cafeteria, so you need to top up a special card using this machine.

The overall atmosphere of the university was really nice, but if I had to mention one drawback, it would be that the campus isn’t within walking distance from the nearest station. Students usually commute by car or bus, and with over 10,000 students, the number of cars is quite overwhelming.
< Student Accommodation>
There are dormitories on campus. However, since there are so many students, not everyone who wants to stay in the dorms can get a spot. Some students live nearby and commute by bus.
【quad room】

Four students share a shower, toilet, refrigerator, and microwave in the room.
【 Single room】

Cooking is not allowed in the rooms, but there is a shared kitchen where students can prepare their meals.
【Gym】

There were plenty of machines, and everyone was focused on their workouts.
【Exterior of the Dormitory】

<Exterior of the Campus>

The architecture of the building is really impressive.
We were truly impressed by the advanced equipment and facilities everywhere on campus—it’s hard to believe that this university was established 30 years ago. It really felt modern and up-to-date.
APU is a private university with particular strengths in IT, engineering, business, and design. With students from over 100 countries around the world, it offers a truly international environment. All classes are conducted in English, and students can enjoy a truly diverse and multicultural campus life.
The university also has its own language center offering various English courses, which we will introduce separately. Additionally, APU offers a dual degree program with a UK university, providing students with both practical skills and a globally recognized education.
We were truly captivated by APU’s smart campus, fully equipped with cutting-edge facilities. Graduates of APU can expect to pursue careers in the IT industry, multinational companies, and many other fields.
