MOHE-Approved English Program:
ELS Malaysia’s flagship CIEP (Certified Intensive English Programme) is officially recognized by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as meeting the English language requirement for university admission. With CIEP certification, students can enter Malaysian universities without taking IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE. The program not only fulfills admission criteria but also ensures strong English skills for smooth academic transition.
Our Journey:
Established in 1961 in Washington, D.C., ELS has provided high-quality English programs to over 1.2 million students from 143 countries. In 1990, the first ELS center in Malaysia was opened to offer better higher education opportunities for aspiring students. With partnerships with over 650 universities in the US, Canada, and Australia, and 2,700 counseling offices in 140 countries, ELS is a trusted name in English education. In Malaysia, ELS operates centers in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya, and on-campus at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and is proud to collaborate with Malaysia Language Center to further expand access to quality English education.

●Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP)
CIEP is a trusted and recognized English program partnered with over 600 universities and colleges in the U.S. and Malaysia. Completion of CIEP allows students to enter partner universities without submitting IELTS or TOEFL scores, making it ideal for those preparing for higher education.
Levels: 10 levels (Beginner 100 to Advanced 109)
Class size: Max 20 students, average 15
Schedule: 28 lessons per week, 50 minutes each
Duration: 4 weeks per level
Start date: Every month
Class hours: 8:30 AM – 3:20 PM (Friday schedule may vary)

English Skills
The CIEP program covers all essential language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar. Students learn to speak clearly, listen attentively, and develop the writing skills necessary to complete academic tasks accurately and efficiently.
University Success Skills
To succeed in college or university, more than just basic English proficiency is required. The CIEP program also teaches essential skills such as critical thinking, presentations, public speaking, note-taking, and academic research.
Applied Learning
At ELS, the goal is to provide language learning that can be applied in real-life situations. Through activities such as debates and role-playing, students practice using appropriate phrases and vocabulary in a variety of scenarios.
● Communicative English Program (CEP)
This program is designed for business professionals to improve their English skills. It integrates vocabulary, reading, listening, and speaking to enhance communication abilities in the workplace. It is suitable for recent graduates and business people aiming for career advancement.
Level: 5 levels (Beginner to Advanced)
Class Size: Up to 20 students, average 15 students
Schedule: 4 hours per week
Duration: 12 weeks per level
Start Date: Every month
Sample Schedule: Saturday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Active Listening & Speaking: Improves fluency, accuracy, and comprehension.
Vocabulary Enhancement: Learn words and phrases essential for effective communication.
Conversational English: Practice dialogues to succeed in workplace interactions.

Overview:
ELS was established in 1961 in Washington, D.C., USA. About 30 years later, in 1990, the first ELS center in Malaysia was founded. Since then, ELS has been providing high-quality English programs to students seeking better opportunities for higher education and a brighter future. ELS was honored with the Star Award for Best Chain School in 2023, marking its third win following awards in 2019 and 2022.
